This is not for you. Nor is it for me. This is a realm where creative things go to exist in the physical world, to flourish. A place where worlds and ideas collide and intertwine to create the beautiful twists and turns that make up the mind of artists, beings in which creation defines their existence.
I am one of those beings.
I surround myself with beings of this kind.
In my nineteen, almost twenty, years on this Earth, I have lived a life that has juiced the creativity and artistry out of every environment I have encountered. And I have analyzed how each environment has affected this facet of my personhood.
I grew up by the ocean. I am now surrounded by concrete.
I traded a shoreline for a skyline.
But I have realized that creative people, no matter where you put them, will find any way possible to fill the prophecy of their passion: to create as an effect of surrounding inspiration. I found this to be true about myself and the people I have encountered who share this purpose. These are the people who inspire me on a daily basis: creatively, mentally, and emotionally.
So, as I previously stated, this is not for you. Nor is it for me. This is for them. This is for us. The people who are able to look at life through a whimsical lens. And whimsical, in this case, does not mean puppies and rainbows. It means taking something that could look banal, boring, to a common eye and making it into something, seeing it’s potential to convey a larger meaning.
These are things that will be seen on this platform. Things that may lack appeal, but are given appeal by the unique lens of an artist, a creator.
Those are the people who will be seen on this platform. Artists, creators, who give purpose and beauty to things that may pass us by.
This is what this platform is for.
This is SUBURBAPOLITAN. The collision of two words, two worlds, that result in this Big Bang of creative energy, inspiration, and artistry.
Yours Truly,
G.A.
